Method and standardization for testing spontaneous polarization properties of tourmaline powder

Abstract:As a complex boron-containing silicate mineral, tourmaline has properties of natural spontaneous polarization, piezoelectricity, pyroelectricity, negative ion release and infrared radiation, and has broad application prospects in the fields of environmental protection, energy saving, human health and so on. Among these excellent properties of tourmaline powders, the spontaneous polarization performance is the core. In order to standardize the enterprises production of tourmaline powders and lead their high value-added utilization, this work determined the test principle of spontaneous polarization performance. Also, the intensity calculation, device design and testing procedure for spontaneous polarization of tourmaline powders were studied, the key technical specifications were determined through extensive experimental data to ensure that meet the production and application reality. Finally, the national standard of Test Method for Spontaneous Polarization of Tourmaline based on the pyroelectric-charge integration test principle is proposed.
