Abstract:SO2 is one of the most harmful air pollution sources at present.In order to control the emission of SO2 exceeding the standard,a variety of desulfurizers have been studied.The desulfurization effect of fly ash modified has been greatly improved.Sink beads are a special kind of microbeads that can be separated from fly ash.They are similar to fly ash in chemical composition and have stronger “pozzolanic activity”than conventional fly ash.In order to explore the influence of modified sink beads on the adsorption efficiency of SO2 removal,the mineral composition and particle morphology of the modified sink beads before and after modification were compared and analyzed,and the adsorption efficiency of the modified sink beads and the traditional Ca(OH)2 desulfurizer for SO2 removal was experimentally studied on the simulated dry flue gas desulfurization experimental platform.The results show that the modified sink beads have larger surface area and more pores than the original ones,which is conducive to improving the efficiency of adsorption and removal of SO2 from flue gas.The sink beads are modified to produce calcium silicate hydrate,calcium aluminate hydrate,calcium silicaluminate hydrate and other products.The desulfurization efficiency of Ca(OH)2 and the modified sink beads is compared and analyzed.The desulfurization efficiency of Ca(OH)2 decreased significantly with the passing of time,the highest desulfurization rate is 93.5%,while the desulfurization efficiency of the modified sink beads is stable,the highest desulfurization rate is up to 100% and lasted for 80 min,and the desulfurization effect is obviously better than that of Ca(OH)2.
