Influence of different grinding technology on distributioncharacteristics of fly ash particle group

Abstract: Taking coal-fired power plant fly ash as the research object, the fly ash was pulverized by ball milling process and steam jet milling process, and a more comprehensive comparative study of the particle size distribution, mineral composition, particle morphology, Zeta potential and 28 d activity index of the powder particles was carried out. The results show that the particle size distribution of ultra-fine fly ash prepared by steam jet mill is uniform, and its activity index is significantly higher than that of ultra-fine fly ash prepared by ball mill. The activity of fly ash increases significantly with the decreasing of its particle size. In the condition of 30% of ultrafine fly ash and D50=5.14 μm, its activity index can reach 104.5%.
