Abstract: In order to accurately determine the aspect ratio of kaolinite with different morphological characteristics, the particle size and the aspect ratio of kaolinite were characterized by experiments and calculation methods and compared with the experimental results of aspect ratio by single coulter method and SEM statistics method. The correlation between various test methods and the results of the calculations were discussed. The results show that for kaolinite with relatively large particles, Coulter method can be directly used to calculate the aspect ratio.For smaller kaolinite particle, the laser-Coulter method is more reliable and can be used to calculate the aspect ratio of other lamellar minerals.
