Abstract: Silicon carbide water-based slurry with good stability and high dispersibility were prepared using sucrose fatty acid ester as dispersant. The effects of pH value, dispersant content,and solid phase volume fraction of SiC slurry on the dispersibility of SiC slurry were studied, and the mechanism of sucrose fatty acid ester was analyzed. The results show that the SiC slurry can be dispersed uniformly and effectively using sucrose fatty acid ester as dispersant, and the SiC slurry with high concentration with excellent dispersibility can be prepared. When the pH value of the slurry is 10, the dispersant content is 25%, and the volume fraction of SiC is 20%~30%, the SiC powder particles can be uniformly dispersed in the water matrix system. Under the condition, the fluidity and dispersion of SiC slurry are the best, and the final preparation of SiC slurry solid volume content is as high as 65%.
