Experimental study for the ironstone particle agglomeration based on penetration test

Abstract: Penetrating test was used to study the influence of particle size, moisture and compact load on the agglomeration of ironstone particles. Single factor experiments were performed to qualify the agglomeration tendency with various different parameters; orthogonal experiments were carried out to find out the key influence factor during agglomeration process. The results show that the influence of compact load and moisture is positive, but the influence of particle size during agglomeration process is negative, when particle diameter is larger than 1 mm, its influence on agglomeration is not obvious. The order of factor’s influence on agglomeration is particle size, particle moisture and compact load.
