Abstract: Carbon microspheres were firstly synthesized using glucose as carbon source by hydrothermal method, and then activated carbon microspheres were prepared into hierarchical porous activated carbon by KOH re-activation method. Finally, the electrochemical properties of hierarchical porous activated carbons as super-capacitor electrode material were tested and characterized. The results show that the KOH re-activation method has the dual functions of expanding and reconstructing holes, and the hierarchical porous activated carbon materials with high specific surface area, suitable hierarchical porous structure and good graphitization degree can be obtained. In the neutral electrolyte Na2SO4, the specific capacitance of hierarchical porous activated carbon material can reache 209 F/g at the current density of 1 A/g, indicating excellent electrochemical performance.
