Air quality numerical forecasting system in Xinxiang and model analysis on severe polluition progress

Abstract:Air quality numerical forecasting service system of Xinxiang city, Henan province was conducted operationally. Two air quality numerical models, nested air quality prediction modeling system (NAQPMS) and community multiscale air quality (CMAQ) were employed to realize automatic operation. A severe PM2.5 polluted episode over north and middle China was analyzed based on the platform to eualuate the forecast effect. The results show that the model system can reproduce this episode well, with good relationship between observation and simulation, especially NAQPMS model, which can predict accurately period of the event and the concentration level of pollutants.
