Abstract:The particle features, such as crystallinity, particle size distribution, specific surface area, and morphology, of the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) powder samples fabricated by emulsion polymerization method were investigated by polycrystalline X-ray diffraction, laser particle size analyzer, nitrogen adsorption and polarized optical microscopy. It shows that the morphology of the samples is irregular thin flakes. A four peak particle size distribution modal for the samples is observed. It is found that the crystallinity and the particle size of the samples increase with increasing polymerization time, whereas the specific surface area decrease.
