Abstract:The effect of dimensions of the exit pipe on the flow field and performance of small cyclone separator was investigated computationally by Reynolds stress model (RSM) and discrete phase model (DPM) . The calculated results indicate that exhaust pipe diameter and dust cone cone diameter of small cyclone separator have a significant effect on the collection efficiency and the pressure drop, and 50% cut size for this small cyclone is about 0.9 μm. The results show that this type of small cyclone is expected to be used in reducing smog and haze.
