Simulation of Slow Granular Flow on Inclined Plane Based on Particle Flow Code in Three Dimensions

Abstract:To study the mechanism of slow granular flow on inclined plane, on the basis of analyzing the factors affecting fluidity of granular materials, chute simulation model was constructed by particle flow code in three dimensions of distinct element method to simulate the process of slow granular flow on inclined plane. The mobility of particles as well as the stress, displacement and speed of individual particle in chute were observed. The variation of particle internal force field and particle velocity field was measured. The results show that with the increase of chute angle, the speed of grain flow increases continuously and unevenly, and the contact force and unbalanced force among the accumulated particles increase significantly, which influences the flow velocity.
