Abstract:The EDTA4- intercalated Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (MgAl-E DTA-LDH) was prepared by the method of co-precipitation. The structure and chemical compositions of Mg Al-EDTA-LDH were characterized by XRD and IR. The removal of copper ion in aqueous solution by MgAl-EDTA-LDH was researched. The results show that EDTA4- is intercalated into the interlayer spaces of Mg-Al layered double hydroxide. The Mg Al-EDTA-LDH can remove Cu2+ from the aqueous solution effectively with the maximum adsorption efficiency of 93.05% at 2 h.
