Abstract:Aiming at the problems of discharging difficulty and low recovery efficiency of cyclone separators in a poly-acrylamide(PAM) fluidized-bed dryer, the main reason was given that the high pressure drop of the cyclone dust exit made it difficult for the recycling fan to send the collected particles back to the dryer. A new cyclone separator with special internals in its dust bin was developed. Two models of the new cyclone and the original one were fabricated and a comparative test was conducted. The results show that the pressure drop of dust exit of the new cyclones is reduced by 60%, while the separation efficiency and pressure drop are little influenced. The new cyclone has a much better ability to recycle the collected particles because its static pressure at the dust exit is greatly increased.
