Abstract:The small diameter hydrocyclone has not a good separation effect. Therefore,a kind of 8 mm in diameter micro hydrocyclone was designed and its separation performance was compared with that of 10 mm in diameter hydrocyclone. The numerical simulated and experimental results show that,compared with the 10 mm hydrocyclone, the underflow output of8 mm hydrocyclone increases by 3.8%, the overflow concentration reduces by 5.3%, the underflow concentration is unchanged, the comprehensive classification efficiency of-2 μm particles increases by 6%, the comprehensive classification efficiency of-5 μm particles increases by 3.1%,the cut size reduces about 0.7 μm.
