Preparation and Application of Hectorite

Abstract:Aiming at the status of scarce natural hectorite resource and low development production capacity, the preparation technology and application of hectorite were summarized including dry or wet purification of natural hectorite minerals, synthesizing hectorite and lithium chemical modification of natural montmorillonite. According to special crystal structural features of hectorite, application research and achievements in fields such as daily chemical, adsorbents, catalyst carriers, nano-composites and so on were introduced. As one of the most important mineral materials, the future research emphases for hectorite were pointed to be developing the best synthesis process and its applications in different fields.
