Study on Suspension Property and Redispersibility of CeO2 Slurry

Abstract: The influence of dispersant, pH and dispersion medium on the suspension property and redispersibility of CeO2 slurry was studied. The settling behavior, absorbance and zeta potential of CeO2 slurry were characterized by reposing a certain period of time. The results show that the best mass fraction of dispersant L for preparing CeO2 slurry with high suspension and good redispersibility is 2%. The suspension stability of CeO2 slurry is highest when pH is 10.7. The settling behavior of CeO2slurry can be significantly changed by mixing water and alcohol as the dispersion medium, and the best mass ratio of water and alcohol is 4:1.
