Abstract: The thermo-dynamics model of Co-Cu binary system in mechanical alloying process was established based on Miedema semi-experimental theory. Thermo-dynamics and kinetics of Co-Cu nano-crystalline supersaturated solid solution prepared by mechanical alloying process were discussed . The results show that Co-Cu nano crystalline supersaturated solid solution is prepared by mechanical alloying. The thermo-dynamics calculation results indicate that there is no driving force to form solid solution in Co-Cu binary system. It means that driving force of Co-Cu nano-crystalline supersaturated solid solution prepared by mechanical alloying comes from dynamics.
