Abstract: Taking the horizontal sand mill as ultrafine grinding facility, theinfluence ofmedia filling rate,mill rolling speed, powder densityin pulp, dosage of grinding aids and grinding time on the ultrafine grinding effect of rutile titanium dioxide were studied. The results indicate that with the media filling rate of 70%, mill rolling speed of 2 250 r/min, powder mass fraction in pulp of 50%, and grinding aids mass fraction of 0.4%, the particle size of titanium dioxide d50 and d97 can reach 0.48 and 1.07 μm by grinding rutile titanium dioxide for 20 min.
