Abstract： Silver plated TiO2 powders was prepared by method of electroless plating, using formaldehyde as the reducing agent and silver nitrate as the main salt. The optimal formation conditions of silver plated TiO2 powders were designed by orthogonal experiments. The obtained silver plated TiO2 was observed and analyzed by XRD, FESEM equipped with EDS and UV -Vis. The results indicate that the mass fraction of silver-coated on the surface of TiO2 particles is about 11%. The effects of silver nitrate concentration, temperature and dripping speed on the progress of silver plated TiO2 powders are larger. The visible light absorption intensity of the silver plated TiO2 powders is enlarged. The silver plated TiO2 powders has visible light chemical activities.
