Abstract: The effect of operating parameters on energy consumption for cement clinker grinding in horizontal planetary ball mill were investigated. The main effect among the operating parameters was confirmed. One-factor-at-a-time design was employed to analyze the influence and determine the higher and lower levels of independent parameters used in Plackett-Burman design. The results show that the 4 factors that influence significantly the power consumption which are confirmed by Plackett-Burman design include vial -risk speed ratio, feed size, material filling rate as well as liner thickness.
