Abstract: Granulated blast furnace slag powders were prepared by stirring mill and ball mill. Granule morphology of different granulated blast furnace slag particles in various grinding stages were researched by SEM sample preparation technology. The results indicate that as the prolong of the grinding time, the particle shape index, flatness, angularity and surface roughness are all decreased, the roundness is increased. There is great difference between the micro-appearance of granulated blast furnace slag particles prepared by different grinding methods. When the grinding time of ball mill and stirring mill are the same, the morphology of granulated blast furnace slag particles prepared by stirring mill is better than that of ball mill.
