Experimental Study on Rising Laminar Flow Hydraulic Classification of Ultrafine Powders

Abstract: Taking β-SiC ultrafine powders with median particle size d50 of 1.14 μm as the classification raw materials, the self-developed rising laminar flow hydraulic classification method was used to carry on experimental study of classification. The tracer liquid was used to observe and judge the flow state. The results show that the stable and uniform flow field can be gotten by adjusting the structure of porous ceramic module and flow velocity. Under the state of laminar, different products with average particle sizes of 0.86, 0.75, 0.50, 0.40 μm are gotten at different heights and the flow rates of 2.5 and 2.0 m/h. The β-SiC ultrafine powders are accurately graded.
