Abstract: The concentrations of 13 kinds of monodispersive polystyrene microspheres with different sizes were determined by turbidimetric method respectively. The effects of particle size, temperature and storage time on the turbidity of suspension were studied. The experimental results show that the relationships between concentrations and turbidity of monodispersive polystyrene microspheres are significant in the test range. By these obtained correlations, the concentrations of monodispersive polystyrene microspheres can be rapidly calculated. The turbidimetric method shows a relative standard deviation of 1.87% ~6.36% with a detection limit of 0.01~3.88 mg/L in mass concentration. The recoveries of standards added to the suspension of monodispersive polystyrene microspheres are between 93.1% and 110.0%.
