Abstract: The adsorbents of flowerlike nano-sized MnO2 in-situ grown on diatomite were prepared using the hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, HRTEM, and N2 adsorptiondesorption methods. The results indicate that the sample obtained after hydrothermal treatment for 8 h shows the surface area of 141 m2/g and the particle diameter corresponding to accumulate volume fraction of 50% (d50) is 35.14 μm. The Cr (VI) and As (V) removal efficiencies are 100% and 99.98% with the aqueous solution mass concentration of 10 mg/L. The maximum capacities for Cr (VI) and As (V) adsorption are respectively 157.6 and 93.2 mg/g.
