Abstract:TiO2-barite pigments were prepared through mechano-chemistry method taking barite powders as raw materials. By comparing the dry and wet process obtained TiO2-barite composite pigments, dry preparation was determined. The dry preparation of TiO2-barite pigment process conditions impact on the properties was focused. The results show that the optimum technical conditions are that the recombination time is 1.5 h, the TiO2 content is 40%, the mass ratio of ball to powder is 4:1. Under these conditions, the hiding power of TiO2-barite pigments can reach more than 80% of TiO2 powders and the coating effect is best.
