Abstract
The research on fluid flow field in hydrocyclonesis the base of understanding their separationmechanism. After research on the single phase and two phase flow in them, a new knowledge of separation mechanisn was gained.Because the turbulence of flow hassignificant influence on separation, the research on turbulence was done,and a theoretical relation between the turbulant and cut size was given. The theoretical results were applied to developement of twokinds of hydrocyclonesfor starch refining and wastewater treatment in H3PO4 production.
