Abstract

A new technique named chemical coprecipitation -gel method of producing nano-sized ZrOzbased powders is introduced in this paper.By this method, high purity and ultrafine ZrO2 powder or synthesised ZrO2 based powderwith about 10nmequivalent diameter, lower than 0.1wt% total content of impurities, partidles with high dispersity and very narrow size disribution can be produced using cheap materials and through convenient technological process. The characteristics of phase structure and sintering ability ofthe nano-sized ZtOz powders are alsoinvestigated.
