Abstract：T he explosion risk assessment are carried out for two calcium carbide desulfurizer powder processes explosion prevention and protection methods are introduced including ventilation inerting using explosion proof electrical apparatus and venting．Controlling the concentration of combustible gases is the key of explosion prevention．Venting is a cheap and easy maintaining protection method．
