球磨法制备超细碳化硅粉体

Preparation of Superfine SiC Powders by Ball Milling Method

摘要:以低品位碳化硅粗粉为原料,通过球磨工艺制备高性能超细碳化硅粉体,研究球磨时间、球料质量比、转速等球磨参数对碳化硅粉体微观结构及性能的影响。结果表明:随着球磨时间、球料质量比、转速的增加,碳化硅粉体的粒度逐渐减小,粉体振实密度不断减小,但是碳化硅粉体形成的圆锥高度逐渐增大,即碳化硅粉体的流动性逐渐变差;随着球磨时间的延长,X射线衍射强度减小,衍射峰宽化显著增加,说明通过球磨细化了碳化硅的晶粒度;最佳球磨参数是转速为200 r/min,球料质量比为10,球磨时间为40 h。

Abstract: High-performance ultrafine SiC powders were prepared by the method of ball milling taking low grade coarse SiC powders as raw materials. Effect of ball milling parameters such as milling time, mass ratio of ball to powders and rotation velocity on the microstructure and properties of SiC powders was researched. The results show that particle size and vibration compaction density of the SiC powders decrease with the increase of milling time, mass ratio of ball to powders and rotation velocity. However, taper height of the SiC powders increases, namely flowability of the SiC powders becomes poor. X ray diffraction peaks intensity decreases and full-widths at the half maximum (FWHM) of SiC diffraction peaks obviously broadens, which illustrates that grain sizes of the SiC powders are refined by ball milling. The optimal ball milling parameters are as follows. The rotation velocity is 200 r/min, the mass ratio of ball to powders is 10 and the milling time is 40 h.
